 A normal centrifugal casting machine for making cast iron pipes in sand molds is shown in Figure 11.12. First, the sand box is filled with sand to ensure the shape of the cast pipe. Any tail details, such as casing tail or flange tail, are obtained with the help of dry sand cores. In order to reduce the bad vibration in the casting process, the long necked bottle is dynamically balanced. The finished flask installed between the roller and the mould rotates slowly. Now, the molten metal injected determines the thickness of the cast pipe. After casting, the mold continues to rotate at running speed until it solidifies and finally forms the desired shape. Then, update the machine mold and continue processing. Metal mold can also be used in centrifugal casting to cast high quality products.
