Vacuum casting
When making metal mold in Dongguan CNC plant, it is connected with a crucible liquid metal through a riser. Vacuum casting is similar to low pressure casting. But instead of providing pressure to the melt, a vacuum is created in the cavity, allowing the metal to flow into the cavity.
Continuous casting
In Dongguan CNC plant, the starting point of production of all structural steel products is ingot iron, which is usually rolled by several mills before the final product is formed. However, the widely used continuous casting has been changed to pouring thick plates, large billets and square billets on the top instead of rolling process. This process is efficient and economical.
Continuous casting is to solidify molten steel into large billets, square billets or thick plates of semi-finished products and roll them continuously in the investment casting machine. In continuous casting, liquid steel moves into the ladle and then into the pouring machine. When the casting operation starts, the sliding gate at the bottom of the ladle is opened, and the liquid steel flows into the funnel at a controllable speed and into one or more molds from the funnel. The liquid steel is poured into the double wall bottomless water-cooled mold, Thus, the solid surface and unfinished surface can be formed rapidly, and the bottom surface of open mold can be formed. The thickest surface formed in the mold is about 10-25 mm, and it is rapidly solidified by the strong water cooling of the casting during downward movement. About 55% of the liquid steel production in the world is solidified by continuous casting, among which the most widely used is to continuously pour liquid steel into short, water-cooled and vertical copper mold, and at the same time, continuously take out the cooled shell mold, including the liquid iron contained in it. The process is shown in the figure 11.9:


The layout of a typical continuous casting equipment in Dongguan CNC processing plant is shown in Figure 11.9. Molten steel is concentrated in a funnel and maintained in an intermediate container called a funnel, which is difficult to melt. The molten steel is poured into a water-cooled 450-750 vertical copper mold. Before casting, a dummy bar is placed at the bottom of the mold as shown in Fig. 11.9. After casting, when the metal level in the mold rises to the required height, the starting bar retracts at a speed equivalent to that of casting steel, and the initial metal condenses on the starting bar as well as on the periphery of the mold. When the solidified shell of cast steel passes through another cooling zone, the cooling zone sprinkles water on the surface of the shell to complete the solidification process. After the casting is completely solidified, it is cut to the specified length by cutting equipment.
Dongguan CNC processing plant In order to fully understand the significance of continuous casting, it is necessary to discuss some aspects of the old technology used in modern steel manufacturing and ingot casting. In the two processes, molten steel is prepared in the electric furnace. The molten steel in the oxygen converter and the flat furnace is then transferred to the ladle, and then directly poured into the ingot or into the continuous casting equipment.
Dongguan CNC processing plant Many types of ingots can be prepared in both processes, depending on the size and shape of the final steel product to be manufactured. Three types of ingots can be prepared: large billet, square billet and thick plate. Thick plates are used to make flat plates and other flat products. Large billets and square billets are used to prepare structural parts, round parts and pipeline products
